Imagine visiting your great, great grandmother's family home in Vermont. Our spacious guest rooms would duplicate some of that experience. Original details such as pine floors, Rumford fireplaces and windows with ancient bubbly glass would all be there. We have added cheerful decorating and comfortably firm beds clad in elegant linens and luxurious down pillows. The historic details are set off nicely by many family antiques.
Newly decorated with beautiful queen size mahogany rice-carved four-poster
bed. Windows overlook lawn and wooded hillside. Original wide pine floor,
working fireplace. Antique dresser, chairs and marble-topped table. Full tub and shower bath. Once home to Barbara's youngest brother who reportedly climbed out the bathroom window once or twice to attend parties after his bedtime.
"The room was cute and cozy. The bed was so comfortable and the house enchanting. Not to mention the delicious breakfasts..."

Honeymoon Suite
This spacious, elegant accommodation has lots of space for you to stash your stuff and then stretch out to your heart's content. It features a king-size bed and long sofa facing a colonial hearth. Once essentially a working kitchen, the fireplace is now purely decorative but in winter a small wood fire can be built in the open brick oven to add a really special glow. Marshmallows optional! The bedroom connects to a large private sun room which overlooks Bailey Brook and the imposing 1820 stone dam which once blocked its flow. You can nap on a sofa here and during mild weather be serenaded by the endless gurgling of the brook. Your oak-floored bath has a tub/shower combination and leads to the big walk-in closet with a bureau and lots of shelves and hanging space and a window facing the woods.
"...One of the loveliest bed and breakfasts. And we sleep really, really well - with delicious food and a great cup of tea when we return from our adventures."
Pat and Jim
Bright and beautiful, the Honeymoon Suite occupies an entire wing.
The Suite includes its own private solarium.
Guest Room
The Guest Room has old honey-colored pine floors, working fireplace, queen-size spindle bed, antique table and bureau. The large bath features a tub/shower combination and oak flooring. You can hear the brook from your open window.
"...Our room was perfect. The view from our romantic bed - whether the fire at night or the snow-frosted trees out the window - was delightful."
